Mercury-Sail Is Looking For A New Webmaster...
After 25 years it's time for a new webmaster to step up and continue supporting the class.
From the Prez, July 7, 2022
Dear Mercury Sailors,
I hope you all had a great 4th of July. It’s hard to believe the second half of 2022 is upon us.
The SF Bay Fleet had a successful NorCal Series at Encinal Yacht Club. 20 races over 4 races days provided lots of good sailing, run on the water by Aaron Lee. John Hanson started the series very strong, however the series was won by John and Mike Ravizza.

From the Prez, October 2020...
Hello all Mercury Class members!
WOW, it’s already October! Where has all the racing been? Oh ya, it’s the year of the Covid!
It’s been a few months since I’ve given any kind of an update, so here’s what has been going on and what is scheduled to go on!
Huntington Lake: Doug Baird won the High Sierra……Jim Bradley and crew did a fantastic job putting on the races under the circumstances!
National Championships, CBYC: Chris Raab and Kenny Dair won their 8th Class Championship……Mike Burch and the Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club did a fantastic job of putting on a really good regatta. Due to the restrictions imposed by the state CBYC was not able to hold a dinner for us, so Mike arranged for BBQ brought in and cooked in the boat yard for the annual dinner. All turned out great!

Hello all Mercury class members near and far!
Not much to update since there has been no racing as of late……That being said, it sounds as if things might be starting to open up in the Bay Area. Moving into the first part of May, Cinco De Mayo or the ROC / SB Spring Regatta has been canceled, as well as Homecoming Nor Cal # 3 and So Cal # 3.
The Coronado Yacht Club still has the Small Boat Regatta set for June 13th and 14th. I will get confirmation if the event is still go. If things open up on the 15th of May for the state, I imagine they would still put the race on. Also, as of this update there is still no word on Huntington Lake……Seems there will be plenty of water, but nothing official yet.

Hello once again all Mercury Class members!
Been a few months, so here’s a brief class update………..
Strange times we are living in right now with the whole COVID 19 (Corona Virus) world pandemic. I first want to address the class sailing schedule…..that being said, some yacht clubs are completely shut down and some are on limited schedules but still conducting regattas or sailing events. One such club is the Encinal Yacht Club who host our NorCal series. They will still run our upcoming races on April 4th…….however, keep an eye on your email for any last minute updates or any changes. As for the rest of our racing schedule, we’ll just have to see what comes about in the next couple weeks. It is important that we make sure if the class is to change or cancel any up coming racing dates, we need to let the hosting club know in advance (as much as possible) that no Mercurys will be attending. I will leave those decisions up to the local fleets as to what they want to do.

Hello again all Mercury Class members near and far!
Yes it’s been awhile since I have address the class with an update. So have a seat, sit back, and hold on as I recap the last part of our 2019 and give you some of what’s ahead for 2020!
Since we last talked we had just completed our High Sierra Regatta. Big thanks to Pat Bradly, Peter and Lynn Baldwin, and their large support staff for once again making the event spectacular! Fast forward to the Labor Day regatta, 12 boats participated in what is probably one of the most beautiful venues the Mercury Class races in. Dick Clark and his top notch race committee crew did another wonderful job. The sunset Saturday night while we enjoyed the BBQ dinner was magnificent!
From the Prez, August 2019...
Hello all Mercury Class Members!
Just a quick update from your President, I know its been a while, but it has been a busy summer.
Since my last report the NorCal series wrapped up, another successful series for the SF Bay Fleet. Unfortunately the SoCal series never gained any traction this year, but will push through to next Spring and make it happen! Then we had Santa Barbra Spring Regatta, with 6 boast on the line.
From the Prez, April 2019...
Well hello again all Mercury class members near and far!!
It’s time for a class update!!
So Perry Cup 2, 3, and 4 were canceled because of stormy weather as was Mid-Winters…..As many of us had hopes of getting the season back on track in March, Nor Cal #1 and So Cal #1 both were canceled due to, yep you guessed it, STORMY weather!
