June 2017
Hello again Mercury Sailors!
2017 MCYRA Flagship

We have another new Mercury owner amongst us, Lyn Hines recently bought Merc. # 565 from Myron Erickson, and raced in the last Norcal series June 3rd. Myron, unfortunately for the Mercury Association is moving out of state, but appears he is moving onto new adventures. Myron will be missed on the water, and of course he is welcomed back anytime! We wish him and Nancy all the best!

Norcal series once again was a huge success! There were as many as 12 boats on the water the first weekend, with Jim & Kathy Bradley taking the overall series win! The first 2 Saturdays of the first annual Socal series had 3 boats each day, unfortunately due to schedule conflicts with CBYC and for some of the L.A. sailors we were unable to finish all 4 Saturdays. We will get it on the schedule next year!

Coming up in July, we have the Hart Nunes regatta at the San Francisco Yacht Club in Belvedere on July 8th. Another great opportunity for those of you in the North (and So Cal boats as well) to dust that boat off and get it out sailing! Huntington Lake is July 22nd and 23rd! Like last year the lake is almost over flowing with water, and our annual High Sierra regatta looks to be better than ever! The Saturday night dinner and dance has been moved up to Friday night due to an unforeseen scheduling mishap by Lakeshore Resort. Pat Bradley and Peter Baldwin’s world famous Tri Tip dinner will take place again in grand style Friday night! Is it possible for the “Lanzafame Family Entertainer’s” to outdo last year’s amazing performance??

A quick update/reminder: The National Championships hosted by the Monterey Fleet and the Monterey Yacht Club is coming up fast! Five races are scheduled for the 25th to the 27th of August. There is a very good chance we could get up to 30 boats on the line! So make your plans now!
Lots of good competitive racing coming up! Don’t miss out, be a part of it! Your boat wants to go sailing, and wants to take you along for the ride!

See you on the water!
